Zine Making Workshop with Masters Student Scott Duncan I’ve made plenty of Zines before such as The Little Book of Happy and The Wellbeing Passport as well as some short abstract ones with the Scottish Book Trust. When Scott introduced us to them he definitely broadened my understanding of the term zine as well as the history of them. He also introduced me to local artists and Zine makers The Brownlee Brothers
I was inspired to go a bit more abstract with my zine as I was determined I wanted to make a project summary for myself and the story book style flip pages didn’t really speak to me this time. Instead I chopped at pages and included interactive elements as well as a bunch of inspirational work to produce this -

Evaluation
Once Again this organic approach to creating or even defining my practice is something I’m finding to be extremely beneficial. I would get overwhelmed or tie myself into knots over defining what I do and what I believe in as an artist when I’m starting to realise I don’t have to.
