Born in 2003 and based between Dundee and the Isle of Skye (Scotland) I’m a young mixed media artist and trainee seamstress who pushes to create opportunities that benefit myself and my community. I’ve suffered greatly from Depression and Anorexia especially in recent years which has both hindered and pushed my practice into places I never thought I’d reach. The support I received in my ongoing recovery also provides a great source of inspiration in my life and art.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with the Scottish Book Trust on their “What’s your Story?” Programme, Atlas Arts and Sky Arts during my time at High school as well as receiving work experience as a graphic designer, stage manager, social media manager and as an art teacher to younger years. Over this time I realised that although my fine art helped me receive higher and advanced Higher qualifications at an earlier age I was shown my creative line of thinking and contemporary art practices were what would get me far. Now a 2nd year Art and Philosophy student at DJCAD I see a long future ahead of me with lots of potential.
I do my best to document projects with my longest currently being From Inside which started during the first lockdown and is still ongoing as I try and get my zine to as many people as possible, from Schools, Hospitals and anyone who asks. I work with as many media as possible from textiles, Oil paints, Sculpture, Audio and Photography. Although my practice is yet to take me outside the UK I hope to travel the world and learn as much as I can from the people I meet on the way.
I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me, Thank you for coming with me.
